The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to take complete ownership for a particular department within the store (there are five main departments in each store: Gifts, Books, Stationery/Custom Printing, Hallmark, Toys). Each department is run as a mini-store within a store. The department manager is responsible for everything that occurs in that mini-store i.e. merchandising, inventory control, receiving, communication with upper management and corporate staff, communication with fellow associates and customers, promotional support, opening/closing store, all operational processes and managing staff.
The ability to exceed customer expectations while doing all of the above is the most important aspect of this position. Interacting with and satisfying our customers takes precedence over everything else that we do at The Paper Store.
This position would appeal to an individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment that rewards and encourages creative and entrepreneurial thinking.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
