South Portland, ME South Portland, ME Full-time Full-time $19 - $25 an hour $19 - $25 an hour HIGHLY Cannaco is hiring a Retail Manager for our South Portland recreational cannabis location.
Retail Managers report to the General Manager and are expected to work independently overseeing day to day operations, managing retail staff, supervising and coordinating accurate inventory intakes & product roll-outs, delivering and modeling superior customer service, and ensuring complete compliance with all state and local laws.
As a high volume location, the South Portland store requires a disciplined and experienced leader with excellent people skills.
Recreational cannabis background a plus.
This is a hands-on position that requires the Manager to perform customer service tasks alongside their subordinates in a retail setting.
Other key responsibilities include:
Supervising staff and managing varying personalities Demonstrating professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and a positive demeanor in the performance of all duties Ensuring security protocols are being followed to minimize threats and diversion Overseeing customer intake & identification compliance Providing administrative support including scheduling, onboarding, and reporting Working with the General Manager to review and manage workload & staffing Ensuring positive customer experiences and customer retention, resolving any complaints under the supervision of the General Manager Performing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory; comparing physical inventory to inventory in the tracking system Investigating inventory discrepancies, performing inventory adjustments, and maintaining employee accountability Following standard operating procedures and assisting with updating procedures as instructed Supervising employees to ensure that performance outcomes and goals are achieved Working with the General Manager to train staff and provide opportunities for continued staff development Facilitating team building and reinforcing collaborative communication among staff Interacting with colleagues and subordinates to advance organizational mission and performance Upholding company standards and enforcing company policies, including staff disciplinary actions when necessary as directed by General Manager Covering shifts and flexing into positions as required to maintain store function and operational standards Job Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years Retail Management experience Possession of (or the ability to obtain) a valid Individual Identification Card from the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Working knowledge of Cannabis industry and thorough knowledge of local and state laws and regulations pertaining to Recreational Cannabis in Maine Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required Advanced computer literacy including Microsoft Office Applications and Google Suite Ability to quickly master functions within inventory tracking systems & point of sale systems Exceptional math skills Demonstrated cash handling and deposit auditing experience Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for proper management of retail store, which may include extended periods of standing, sitting, lengthy typing and reading, lifting, carrying, and holding boxes up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
